MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The WVU men’s soccer team has once again added to the 2012 recruiting class as coach Marlon LeBlanc has announced the signing of Majed Osman.

"Majed is a fantastic addition to our program and brings a goal scoring touch and mentality to our attack,” LeBlanc says. “He is a technical player that moves off the ball very well, and most importantly, he can and will score goals.”

A native of London, England, Osman is a forward for Brentford FCCST while attending the International School of London.

Under coach Peter Kanmwaa at the International School of London, Osman has served as the vice-captain on the team competing in the ISSA (International School’s Sports Association) tournaments from 2009-12. During the tournament, Osman served as the top goal scorer for two seasons and was named the top player of the 2012 tournament.

“Majed is athletic, quick and can play as a forward or a midfielder in our system,” LeBlanc says. “He is an honest player that will defend as much as he attacks and certainly compliments our returning players very well. We expect Majed to have an immediate impact on our team this year."

Osman has combined to play in 12 games from 2011-12 in ISSA matches and has scored 15 goals with 10 assists during that time.

Osman has been playing for Luke Skelhorn with Brentford FFCST, where he led the team to the English FA Futsal National Finals on two occasions and won the national championship in 2008.

WVU previously added Kevin Armstrong (Laguna Niguel, Calif.), Haydon Bennett (Chesterfield, Va.), Ryan Cain (Wellington, New Zealand), Francio Henry (St. Catherine, Jamaica), Zak Leedom (Dublin, Ohio), Jamie Merriam (Gaithersburg, Md.), Alessandro Mion (Miami, Fla.), Nick Raskasky (Tacoma, Wash.), Chris Spates (Prince George, Va.) and Kyle Underwood (Aledo, Texas).

West Virginia finished the 2011 season with an 11-8-1 record, 6-3-0 in BIG EAST play. The Mountaineers advanced to the second round NCAA tournament for the second consecutive season. WVU returns 14 members of the 2011 team for this upcoming season.
