Women's Soccer: WVU Travels To Ohio State
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia women’s soccer team resumes its spring season with a pair of matches against Ohio State and Pitt on Saturday, April 21, in Columbus, Ohio. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. against the Buckeyes, and 2 p.m. against the Panthers. “It’s important to play high-level competition in the spring and we’ll see that in our opponents this weekend,” says coach Nikki Izzo-Brown. “We’ll be challenged and it’s all about getting better during this spring season.” The Mountaineers will play one 45-minute contest against both teams at the Buckeye practice field, located behind Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium. All three teams are short on numbers due to current injuries and graduating senior classes. Ohio State is coming off a win over Grand Valley State earlier this month, while Pitt is unbeaten during spring play under new coach Greg Miller. This weekend’s matches mark the fourth and fifth of the spring season for WVU. |
