Track: Mock Places Fourth at ECACs

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior jumper Meghan Mock represented the West Virginia track and field team well Saturday with her performance in the long jump at the ECAC Championships in Princeton, NJ.

The Berkeley Springs, W.Va., native placed fourth in the event with her third-best performance of the year at 5.95 meters. Last week at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships in Tampa, Fla., Mock placed fourth with her season-best distance of 6.07 meters.

Patricia McNish of Albany placed first Saturday at 6.21 meters, while Columbia’s Uju Ofoche came in second with a distance of 6.00 meters.

The Mountaineers continue action Sunday with junior Sydney Cummings competing in the high jump at 10 a.m., while sophomore Stormy Nesbit will compete in the triple jump at 11 a.m. to vie for regional-qualifying marks.

The NCAA East Regional will take place May 24-26 in Jacksonville, Fla., with the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships scheduled for June 6-9 in Ames, Iowa.
