Swimming: Three Swim on Day One
Senior Jake Querciagrossa represented the men with a swim in the 400 IM, finishing the race in a time of 4:35.84 for 95th place overall. Senior Rachael Burnett and sophomore Julie Ogden had swims in the 400 IM and 100 fly, respectively. Burnett finished 56th with a time of 4:55.49, while Ogden placed 113th overall in a time of 1:02.61. “Jake, Julie and Rachael all had very good morning swims,” coach Vic Riggs says. “Just like in the NCAAs, you have to swim finals times to move on and each of them got taken out of their comfort zone a bit by Trials and all that goes with it. To swim close or at their best times for a prelim session is a really good start to our meet.” Querciagrossa and Ogden are each finished with the meet, while Burnett will swim the 200 free on Wednesday, 400 free on Tuesday and 800 free on Saturday. Also swimming on Tuesday is junior Danielle Smith (200 back) and senior Bryce Bohman (100 back). |
