Baseball: Summer League Update #5

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Throughout the summer WVUsports.com will provide weekly updates of how current team members are doing in their respective summer leagues.

Nate Antone, Lorain County Ironmen, Prospect League
Antone batted 3-for-15 (.200) last week with one double and three RBIs. He also played as a reserve for the East Division in the Prospect League All-Star game.

For the season Antone has played in 37 games with a .304 batting average, including 17 runs, nine doubles, four homers and 20 RBIs. He has also pitched in four games with a 1.50 ERA and a record of 0-1.

Zach Bargeron, Front Royal Cardinals, Valley Baseball League
Bargeron took the loss last week against Haymarket, allowing four earned runs on 10 hits in six innings. Bargeron struck out four in the losing effort.

For the season Bargeron is 3-3 with a 2.93 ERA in seven starts and 43 innings. He has allowed 14 earned runs with 39 strikeouts and 12 walks.

Ryan Bennett, Winchester Royals, Valley Baseball League
Bennett played in two games last week, batting 1-for-5 with one walk. He is batting .222 on the season in 16 games with three runs, one double and six RBIs.

Bobby Boyd, Matsu Miners, Alaska Baseball League
Boyd played in four games last week and currently has a nine-game hitting streak. He batted 5-for-13 (.385) last week with three runs, one double, three RBIs and two stolen bases.

On the season Boyd has a .359 batting average to go with nine runs, three doubles, eight RBIs and 15 stolen bases.

Alan Filauro, Winchester Royals, Valley Baseball League
In four games last week, Filauro hit 2-for-15 (.133) with three runs, one home run and two RBIs. He has played in 20 games with a .271 batting average, and has 15 runs, one double, three home runs and 11 RBIs.

Justin Fox, Winchester Royals, Valley Baseball League
Fox finished last week batting 0-for-4 with one walk. Overall Fox has a .220 batting average in 19 games with 11 runs, three doubles, two homers and six RBIs.

Josh Harlow, Front Royal Cardinals, Valley Baseball League
Harlow allowed seven runs on 12 hits in a loss to Waynesboro on July 11. Harlow struck out five and walked two in four innings pitched.

On the season he has played in 14 games with a 1-1 record, allowing 17 earned runs in 27.1 innings pitched with a 5.60 ERA. Harlow has struck out 27 and walked six.

Jared Hill, Licking County Settlers, Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League
Hill did not appear in any games last week.

For the season he is 2-1 with a 4.42 ERA in 18.1 innings. Hill has allowed nine earned runs and has struck out 19.

Maverick Myers, Monmouth Monarchs, Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League
Myers saw action in 18 games for Monmouth and is batting 14-for-62 (.226) with 14 runs, one double and one RBI.

Max Nogay, Marauders, Myrtle Beach Collegiate Summer Baseball League
Nogay completed his season batting 11-for-40 (.275) with three doubles and a triple for the Marauders.

Chris Rasky, Butler BlueSox, Prospect League
Rasky finished his summer batting .211 in 22 games for Butler. The outfielder scored 10 runs with two doubles, one triple, one home run and eight RBIs.

Tyler Steele-Worsham, Marauders, Myrtle Beach Collegiate Summer Baseball League
Steele-Worsham finished his season batting .305 (18-for-59) with four doubles, one homer and 15 RBIs for the Marauders.

Ryan Tezak, Forest City Owls, Coastal Plains League
Tezak pitched against Asheboro last week and earned a no-decision, allowing four runs on five hits in six innings. He struck out eight and walked three.

For the season Tezak has a 2.77 ERA and a 3-1 record in seven starts. Tezak has allowed 12 earned runs in 39 innings, while striking out 39 and walking 19.
