Baseball: Summer League Update #6
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Throughout the summer WVUsports.com will provide weekly updates of how current team members are doing in their respective summer leagues.
Nate Antone, Lorain County Ironmen, Prospect League
Antone batted 3-for-14 (.214) last week in four games played with two runs, two doubles and two RBIs.
For the season Antone has played in 41 games with a .295 batting average, including 19 runs, 11 doubles, four homers and 22 RBIs. He has also pitched in four games with a 1.50 ERA and a record of 0-1.
Zach Bargeron, Front Royal Cardinals, Valley Baseball League
Bargeron earned a no decision last week against Woodstock, where he struck out a season-high 11 batters in seven innings. Bargeron allowed one earned on six hits with no walks.
For the season Bargeron is 3-3 with a 2.70 ERA in eight starts and 50 innings. He has allowed 15 earned runs with 50 strikeouts and 12 walks.
Ryan Bennett, Winchester Royals, Valley Baseball League
Bennett played in two games last week, batting 0-for-5 with one run. He is batting .175 on the season in 19 games with four runs, one double and seven RBIs.
Bobby Boyd, Matsu Miners, Alaska Baseball League
Boyd played in two games last week and currently has an 11-game hitting streak. He batted 4-for-10 (.400) last week with three runs, one double and two stolen bases.
On the season Boyd has a .359 batting average to go with 12 runs, four doubles, eight RBIs and 18 stolen bases.
Alan Filauro, Winchester Royals, Valley Baseball League
In four games last week, Filauro hit 4-for-16 (.250) with three runs, one home run and three RBIs. He has played in 24 games with a .267 batting average, and has 18 runs, one double, four home runs and 14 RBIs.
Justin Fox, Winchester Royals, Valley Baseball League
Fox did not see any action last week. Overall Fox has a .220 batting average in 19 games with 11 runs, three doubles, two homers and six RBIs.
Josh Harlow, Front Royal Cardinals, Valley Baseball League
Harlow allowed three runs on four hits in four innings last week at Luray. The right-hander struck out one and walked one in the start.
On the season he has played in 15 games with a 1-1 record, allowing 20 earned runs in 31.1 innings pitched with a 5.74 ERA. Harlow has struck out 28 and walked seven.
Jared Hill, Licking County Settlers, Great Lakes Summer Collegiate League
Hill played in one game last week, allowing six runs on six hits in two innings of work.
For the season he is 2-1 with a 6.64 ERA in 20.1 innings. Hill has struck out 21.
Maverick Myers, Monmouth Monarchs, Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League
Myers saw action in 18 games for Monmouth and batted 14-for-62 (.226) with 14 runs, one double and one RBI.
Max Nogay, Marauders, Myrtle Beach Collegiate Summer Baseball League
Nogay completed his season batting 11-for-40 (.275) with three doubles and a triple for the Marauders.
Chris Rasky, Butler BlueSox, Prospect League
Rasky finished his summer batting .211 in 22 games for Butler. The outfielder scored 10 runs with two doubles, one triple, one home run and eight RBIs.
Tyler Steele-Worsham, Marauders, Myrtle Beach Collegiate Summer Baseball League
Steele-Worsham finished his season batting .305 (18-for-59) with four doubles, one homer and 15 RBIs for the Marauders.
Ryan Tezak, Forest City Owls, Coastal Plains League
Tezak pitched against Asheboro last week and earned a win, allowing one run on six hits in 5.1 innings. He struck out two and walked three.
For the season Tezak has a 2.64 ERA and a 4-1 record in eight starts. Tezak has allowed 13 earned runs in 44.1 innings, while striking out 41 and walking 22.
L.K. Thompson, Cenn Penn Orioles, Central Pennsylvania Twilight League
Thompson played in three games last week, batting 2-for-6 (.333) with one RBI.
For the season, he is batting .339 in 24 games with eight runs, four doubles, two triples, two home runs and 20 RBIs.
