Meet Amanda Hill
With the 2012 season just around the corner, WVUsports.com will get to know the 12 newcomers on the West Virginia women’s soccer team. We begin with midfielder Amanda Hill.
What attracted you to play soccer at West Virginia University?
I really liked the family atmosphere here in the program and the team chemistry between the players and coaching staff. The campus is really nice and I’m not too far from home either.
Who has had the biggest influence on your soccer career?
I would have to say my oldest brother, Dan. He’s been my coach since I was little. I always wanted to play with him and be just like him.
Of the teams not on your schedule, whom would you like to play most?
Probably Notre Dame. I had some interest in going there and I know it would be a very competitive game.
How did you spend your summer?
What little summer I had was spent with my friends, trying to enjoy the time together before we all went off to college.
Why should Mountaineer fans come see the women’s soccer team play this year?
There are a lot of new faces on this year’s team that fans should check out. Plus, we will have some new teams coming to town as members of the Big 12 Conference. They will see some very good soccer if they come out.
