Men's Soccer Ranked No. 22
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University men’s soccer team checks in at No. 22 in this week’s Soccer America Top 25 poll. The Mountaineers (2-2-0) are coming off back-to-back 1-0 losses to No. 1 North Carolina and No. 15 Wake Forest last weekend on the road. Seniors Travis Pittman and Peabo Doue, along with freshman Jamie Merriam each have one goal to lead the Mountaineers. Defensively, senior Eric Schoenle and freshman Nick Raskasky have anchored the backline, playing all 360 possible minutes of action. In goal, senior Pat Eavenson is 2-2-0 with a 0.75 goals-against average (GAA) in four starts, making nine saves. WVU returns to action on Thursday, Sept. 6, at 7 p.m., with a match at Penn State. |
