The Mountaineers will play their first-ever Big 12 Conference match against Texas Tech on Friday, Sept. 21, at 7 p.m. The game will also be part of a month long celebration of U.S. Youth Soccer Month. Mountaineer Maniacs can enjoy a pre-game tailgate with pizza courtesy of Papa John’s. On Sunday, Sept. 23, the West Virginia will face defending Big 12 champion Oklahoma State on Breast Cancer Awareness Day. Kickoff is slated for noon. Fans are encouraged to wear pink as the WVU coaching staff makes a check presentation for $12,854 to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center at halftime. The WVU women’s soccer team has raised more than $85,000 over the past nine years to help fight breast cancer. Past members of the WVU women’s soccer program will be honored at halftime as well as part of the program’s “Alumni Day.” West Virginia will hold its “Senior Night” on Friday, Oct. 12, when the Baylor Bears come to town. Five Mountaineers will be recognized prior to the 7 p.m. kick – Nicolette DeLaurentis, Caitlin Hulyo, Bry McCarthy, Bri Rodriguez and Mallory Smith. The final home match of the season against Oklahoma on Thursday, Oct. 18, is a “Dollar Night” with all tickets, hot dogs, popcorn and Coca-Colas available for purchase for just one dollar each. It will be televised by FOX Soccer as part of the National Soccer Coaches Association of America College Soccer Game of the Week. Come out and support your Mountaineers on a nationally televised event. |
