Cross Country Maintains National Ranking

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University cross country team has maintained the national ranking of No. 25 in this week’s USTFCCCA National Division I Women’s Poll.

The Mountaineers are also ranked No. 5 in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

WVU is coming off a fourth-place finish at the Penn State Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational on Sept. 8,where the Mountaineers had four runners finish in the top 25. Racing in her first event for WVU, sophomore transfer Savanna Plombon finished first for the Mountaineers in 14th place out of 126 runners with a 6k time of 22:07.

The Mountaineers will continue their season when they travel to Toledo, Ohio for the Toledo Inter-Regional Bubble Buster on Friday, Sept. 21 at 5:50 p.m.
