Schwindel Takes Big 12 Weekly Soccer Award

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore women’s soccer player Kate Schwindel has been named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, announced conference officials. The Livingston, N.J., native totaled three goals and four assists in two matches last weekend, while tying two schools records in the process.

Against High Point on Sept. 16, Schwindel finished with two goals – the first multi-goal game of her career, and three assists, including the game-winning helper. She played a hand in five of the team’s six goals in a 6-0 shutout victory.

On Sept. 14, Schwindel recorded her fourth career one-goal and one-assist match against Towson. She scored her second game-winner of the season and fourth of her career against the Panthers.

The honor is the second of the week for Schwindel who was named to the 11-player TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week yesterday.
