Texas Tech Game Release
The Game (No. 5 Associated Press Poll/No. 4 USA Today Coaches Poll) West Virginia (5-0, 2-0 Big 12) travels to Lubbock, Texas, to face Texas Tech (4-1, 1-1 Big 12) in a Big 12 Conference matchup at Jones AT&T Stadium (60,454) on Saturday, Oct. 13, at 3:30 p.m., ET. The game will be televised live on ABC. This marks the second meeting between the two schools and the first between the two coaches. West Virginia won, 7-6, in the only meeting between the two schools in 1938, in El Paso. WVU coach Dana Holgorsen was the offensive coordinator at Houston in 2009, when the Cougars defeated the Red Raiders, 29-28, in Houston, and won 34-17, in 2010, when he was the offensive coordinator at Oklahoma State. Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville has an 0-1 record against West Virginia. He was the head coach at Auburn in 2008, when he faced the Mountaineers in Morgantown, dropping a 34-17 decision.
