Schwindel Earns Big 12 Honor
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore women’s soccer player Kate Schwindel has been named Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week, announced conference officials. The Livingston, N.J., native helped the Mountaineers remain in first place in the Big 12 standings with a five-point weekend. Against Kansas on Oct. 5, Schwindel scored the game-winning goal for her eighth score of the season. Two days later, she dished out assists on all three goals in WVU’s 3-2 win at Iowa State. The three-assist day is the second of Schwindel’s career, matching her three-helper day against High Point earlier this season. The three assists tie a school record for assists in a single game. The honor is the second of the season for Schwindel who earned weekly recognition on September 18. |
