MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia men’s and women’s diving teams will face Penn State in a meet on Monday, Oct. 15, at the WVU Natatorium. Action is set to begin at 2 p.m.
The Mountaineers are coming off a strong showing in their first meet of the season, winning the West Virginia State Games, with men’s divers Richard Pokorny
, Christian Parker
, and Keith Carmichael
taking the top three spots on the 3-meter board. Pokorny qualified for the NCAA Zone Championships on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards.
For the women divers, Haily VandePoel
won the 3-meter diving competition and placed second on the 1-meter board. Freshman Lindsay Schmidt
took second and third on the 3-meter and 1-meter, respectively. VandePoel earned a qualifying mark for the NCAA Zone Championships on the 1-meter board.
