MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - West Virginia battles fourth-ranked Kansas State in a primetime Big 12 Conference football game televised nationally on Fox.

The 5-1 Mountaineers are looking to rebound from their disappointing 49-14 loss at Texas Tech last weekend, while Kansas State rolls into Morgantown with an unblemished 6-0 record that includes league victories over Oklahoma, Kansas and Iowa State.

Tonight’s game represents Kansas State’s first appearance in Morgantown since Oct. 31, 1931, a 19-0 Wildcat victory.

Tonight’s game features two of the top quarterbacks in college football – West Virginia’s Geno Smith (196-of-260 for 2,274 yards and 25 touchdowns with 0 interceptions) and Kansas State’s Collin Klein (79-of-118 for 1,074 yards and 7 touchdowns with 2 interceptions).

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.

Here is tonight’s Countdown to Kickoff:

10 – Quarterback Geno Smith has completed at least 30 passes in a game TEN times for his career. That feat has happened only five other times in school history.

9 – The Mountaineers had their NINE-game winning streak snapped last Saturday at Texas Tech. West Virginia currently has a four-game winning streak at Milan Puskar Stadium

8 – West Virginia is facing the nation’s fourth-ranked team (in AP poll) for the EIGHTH time in school history and the fourth time in Morgantown. The last two times No. 4 came to Morgantown in 1993 (Miami) and Boston College (1984) West Virginia pulled off the upset.

7 – WVU ranks SEVENTH nationally in scoring offense averaging 45.7 points per game, which also ranks third in the Big 12 this week.

6 – The Mountaineers have produced SIX defensive touchdowns under Coach Dana Holgorsen, including two this season.

5 – Kansas State produced FIVE non-offensive touchdowns last year and has already managed three this season. Since 1999, the Wildcats lead the nation in non-offensive touchdowns with 84.

4 – Kansas State running back John Hubert has FOUR 100-yard rushing games this year and he ranks 31st nationally averaging 101 yards per game.

3 – THREE different Mountaineer receivers have produced 100-yard receiving games this year a total of eight times. Tavon Austin leads the way with four 100-yard receiving performances so far this season.

2 – Sophomore linebacker Isaiah Bruce is tied for SECOND in the Big 12 in fumbles recovered (two) and he’s third in total tackles with 57.

1 – The Big 12 has ONE remaining undefeated team: Kansas State. There are four ONE-loss teams, including West Virginia.
