Big 12 Soccer Championship Field Set
The Mountaineers finished Big 12 play with a 7-0-1 record, marking only the sixth time a team has won the regular season title without a loss. WVU will face No. 8 seed TCU on Oct. 31, at 6:30 p.m. EDT, at Blossom Soccer Stadium in San Antonio, Texas. The Mountaineers defeated Horned Frogs earlier this season with a 2-1 victory at TCU. The top eight teams based on conference results determined by a point system qualify for the Big 12 Championship. Baylor earned the No. 2 seed, followed by Texas Tech (3) and Texas (4). Seeds five through eight consist of Oklahoma (5), Kansas (6), defending champion Oklahoma State (7) and TCU (8). This marks the 16th consecutive year that the University of Texas and San Antonio Sports Foundation will co-host the event at Blossom Soccer Stadium. All quarterfinal and semifinal matches will be streamed live by the Big 12 Digital Network on Big12Sports.com. The championship final will be broadcast by FOX Sports Network (FSN). 2012 Big 12 Soccer Championship Oct. 31, Nov. 2 & 4 Blossom Soccer Complex: San Antonio, Texas Wednesday, Oct. 31 Game 1: No. 4 Texas vs. No. 5 Oklahoma, 12:30 p.m. Game 2: No. 3 Texas Tech vs. No. 6 Kansas, 3:00 p.m. Game 3: No. 1 West Virginia vs. No. 8 TCU, 6:30 p.m. Game 4: No. 2 Baylor vs. No. 7 Oklahoma State, 9:00 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2 Game 5: Winner of Game 1 vs. Winner of Game 3, 6:30 p.m. Game 6: Winner of Game 2 vs. Winner of Game 4, 9:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 4 Game 7: Big 12 Championship, Winner of Game 5 vs. Winner of Game 6, 2:10 p.m., FSN *All times listed above are Eastern |
