MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia women’s basketball television schedule was announced today with seven additional games added to the previous Fox Sports Net package announced by the Big 12 Conference earlier this year.

The Mountaineer Sports Network, West Virginia Public Broadcasting and Root Sports add to the 2012-13 television schedule. WVPBS will air the Chesapeake Energy Capital Classic against Marshall in Charleston on Dec. 4 at 7 p.m.

Root Sports will televise four games, starting with the Dec. 20 Duquesne game at the Coliseum. It will also air the Jan. 15 TCU game, which was originally scheduled for Jan. 16, but changed with the TV schedule. Iowa State on Jan. 26 and Oklahoma State on Feb. 13 will also air live on Root Sports.

Road game additions to the Mountaineers’ TV schedule include the Jan. 2 game at Oklahoma on the Sooner Sports Network and the March 5 game at Texas on the Longhorn Network.

Every regular-season home game this season not aired live on television will stream live on WVUsports.com, starting with the season and home opener against UNC Wilmington on Friday, Nov. 9.

The West Virginia University women’s basketball team will tip off the 2012-13 season with Haunted Hoops presented by Coke Zero, an exhibition game against Concord at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at the WVU Coliseum. The event is free and open to the public. WVU Coliseum gates open at 6 p.m. and fans are encouraged to wear their Halloween costume.
