Gaddis Named Top MLS Rookie

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Former West Virginia University men’s soccer All-American Raymon Gaddis has been named to the Soccer By Ives MLS All-Rookie Best XI team.

Gaddis was picked 35th overall by the Philadelphia Union in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft, the lowest draftee on the Soccer By Ives MLS All-Rookie Best XI team.

After beginning the season on the bench, Gaddis went on to play in 18 games, starting 17 in various defensive positions to lead the Union rookies. He played a total of 1475 minutes with one assist and two shots.

Gaddis earned All-Big East Second Team honors as a senior in 2011 at WVU. He was a MAC Hermann Trophy Watch List member prior to the season after being named a TopDrawerSoccer.com Third Team All-American in 2010. Gaddis registered six assists in 73 career games as a Mountaineer.
