Rifle Remains No. 1

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – For the fifth straight week, the West Virginia University rifle team is ranked No. 1 in the Collegiate Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA) Poll.
The Mountaineers’ (5-0, 2-0 GARC) ranking is based on their team score of 4710, shot in a win over then-No. 12 Navy (4613) on Oct. 27.
For the third consecutive week, Kentucky (4686) and TCU (4680) have flip-flopped positions and come in at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively. Alaska-Fairbanks shot a season-best 4664 on Nov. 3 and moved up four spots to No. 4, while Jacksonville State (4654) dropped one spot to No. 5.
Nebraska held steady at No. 6, while Air Force entered the top 10 at No. 7. Army remains at No. 8, and Ole Miss moved up four spots to No. 9. Murray State dropped five spots to No. 10.
Today’s rankings are based on each team’s most-recent score.
The Mountaineers return to the WVU Rifle Range after a week off for Great American Rifle Conference matches on Nov. 9 and Nov. 11 against Ole Miss and No. 13 NC State.
