MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Following this past Sunday’s action at the Terrapin Duals, four West Virginia University wrestlers remain in multiple Division I wrestling rankings, including junior Colin Johnston (133) and junior Nathan Pennesi (141), who rose in this week’s rankings.

Johnston checks in at No. 13 in WrestlingReport’s rankings, No. 16 in the Amateur Wrestling News’ rankings and No. 17 in Intermat’s rankings. The Eighty Four, Pa., native earned a tech fall against an opponent from Johns Hopkins and dropped a 7-5 decision to then-No.18 Geoffrey Alexander of Maryland.

After posting a 2-0 record last Sunday, Pennesi moved up to No. 12 in WrestlingReport’s rankings and No. 18 in Intermat’s rankings.

Senior Shane Young (125) is ranked No. 23 in WrestlingReport’s rankings and No. 18 by AWN. In addition, Young entered Intermat’s rankings for the first time this season, as he is No. 20. Young won his first match of the season on Sunday, but was unable to compete against Maryland due to an injury.

Junior Lance Bryson (184) is No. 17 in WrestlingReport’s rankings, No. 18 in AWN’s rankings and No. 20 in Intermat’s rankings. Bryson defeated his opponent from Johns Hopkins, but was on the losing end of a decision to then-No.10 Jimmy Sheptock of Maryland.

The Mountaineers resume action this Sunday, as they travel to Raleigh, N.C., for the Wolfpack Open.
