Three Earn All-Region in Cross Country
Senior Sarah-Anne Brault and freshmen Kelly Williams and Sydney Scott were honored after finishing in seventh, 22nd and 24th place, respectively, at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional on Friday, Nov. 9. This is the third year in a row that Brault has received the honor. She will move on to the NCAA Championships, also for the third year in a row. “We are all very proud of the distinction given to these young ladies,” coach Sean Cleary says. “This award distinguished them among the elite of our sport.” The Mountaineers finished with 111 points for fifth out of 31 teams at regionals, while meet host and No. 15 Penn State won the event with 61 points, edging out No. 9 Georgetown, who took second with 63 points. No. 25 Villanova finished in third with 96 points, while Princeton finished fourth with 101 points. Brault will compete at the NCAA Championships in Louisville, Ky., at the E.P. ‘Tom’ Sawyer State Park on Saturday, Nov. 17, at noon. |
