MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University volleyball coach Jill Kramer announces the addition of Hannah Shreve of Charleston, W.Va., to the 2013 recruiting class.

Shreve, a 6-foot-3 middle blocker, has signed a National Letter of Intent to attend WVU and joins Jordan Anderson (Flower Mound, Texas/Flower Mound) in the 2013 recruiting class. Shreve is the first native from West Virginia to sign with the Mountaineers since Jennifer Hayhurst of Parkersburg, who played at WVU from 2000-03.

“We couldn't be happier to add a West Virginia native to our Mountaineer Family,” coach Jill Kramer says. “Hannah has had an outstanding prep career at George Washington where her team won the 2012 State Championship. We had the opportunity to spend a lot of time with Hannah over the summer, as her team attended our 1st Annual WVU Volleyball Team Camp. We learned very quickly that Hannah is very coachable, driven and a very bright young lady. She is going to be an amazing ambassador for the state of West Virginia, West Virginia University and the sport of volleyball.”

A four-year letterwinner at George Washington, Shreve was named to the MSCA first team the last three years, while also named All-State First Team the last two years. This fall, Shreve led her team to a WVIAC AAA State Championship and recorded 438 kills and 158 solo blocks. Shreve finished her career with a school record 1,647 kills and 580 solo blocks. Shreve was named to the West Virginia All-Tournament team in 2011 and 2012 and garnered all-tournament honors at nine other tournaments throughout her career.
