MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia women’s soccer players Bry McCarthy, Bri Rodriguez and Kate Schwindel were named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America’s (NSCAA) All-Central Region teams this week.

McCarthy was named to the all-region first team for the second straight year, while Rodriguez and Schwindel were second-team selections.

McCarthy is the 16th NSCAA All-Region First Team selection under 17th-year coach Nikki Izzo-Brown. The Ajax, Ontario, native was named to the NSCAA All-America Third Team this season after leading the Mountaineers to a Big 12 regular-season championship.

Rodriguez was previously named to the NSCAA All-Northeast Region First Team in 2010. Schwindel’s regional honor is the first of her career.

WVU went unbeaten in its inaugural season in the Big 12 Conference, marking only the sixth time a Big 12 team has won the regular-season title without a loss. West Virginia’s 2012 season ended with a 13th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance.
