McCarthy Adds ECAC Honor

Senior Bry McCarthy continues to haul in postseason awards, today being named a 2012 ECAC Women's Soccer All-Star announced the Eastern College Athletic Conference.

McCarthy helped West Virginia to a 13th consecutive NCAA tournament appearance while earning 2012 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA)/Continental Tire All-America Third Team honors. The outside back led was named the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, becoming the program’s first defensive player to earn a conference major award. She also was named TopDrawerSoccer’s Team of the Season Third Team, its version of All-America teams.

An Ajax, Ontario, native, McCarthy also has played a vital part in the offense, moving forward into the attack to score seven points on two goals and three assists. She will leave West Virginia with 19 career assists, tied for ninth place all-time in program history.
