WVU's Murray Big 12 Rookie of the Week

West Virginia University forward Aaric Murray was named Phillips 66 Big 12 rookie of the week after averaging 11 points and 8.5 rebounds in West Virginia’s pair of non-conference wins over Marshall and Virginia Tech, the conference announced today.

Murray began the week with a seven-point, 10-rebound effort in a 69-59 victory over Marshall in the Chesapeake Energy Capital Classic in Charleston before ending it with a 15-point, seven-board performance in West Virginia’s 68-67 victory over Virginia Tech at the Coliseum on Saturday.

Murray is now averaging a team-best 10.4 points and 7.4 rebounds per game.

West Virginia (4-3) returns to action on Tuesday night against Duquesne at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. and the game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network.
