Two Named Academic All-MAC
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Two members of the West Virginia University men’s soccer team were named to the Academic All-Mid-American Conference team on Monday, as voted on by Faculty Athletic Representatives at member institutions. Sophomore Andy Bevin was named to the first team with a 3.9 grade point average as a pre-business major. Bevin has been a member of the Dean’s List and President’s List at WVU. In 2012, Bevin scored two goals with three assists in 17 matches, earning a spot on the All-MAC Second Team. Junior Craig Stephens was named to the second team with a 3.43 GPA. Stephens is a pre-business major and a member of the Dean’s List. Last season, Stephens scored one goal with two assists in 15 matches. The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests. Freshmen and junior college transfers in their first year of residence are not eligible for the award. |
