MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University swimming and diving teams will host TCU on Friday, January 18, at 5 p.m. at the WVU Natatorium. The meet will serves as WVU’s first-ever Big 12 dual meet.
The Mountaineers look to rebound after both the men’s and women’s squads fell to Pitt last Saturday. The Horned Frogs are coming off a strong showing at the San Antonio Classic in December, with the men’s team placing first and the women’s team placing second in the event.
Several West Virginia swimmers look to continue their strong season in the final meet before the Big 12 Championships. For the women, Rachael Burnett
looks to continue her success after winning the 200 free and 1000 free against Pitt, while Mandie Nugent
placed first in the 200 fly against the Panthers. For the men, Julien Vialette looks to continue his consistent top finishes. He placed first in the 50 free and second in the 100 free in the last meet.
The WVU diving squads will also take their impressive season into Big 12 competition. Haily VandePoel
has shown consistency all season, which continued with first-place finishes on the 1-meter and 3-meter boards in the last meet. Christian Parker
placed second on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards at Pitt.
