The West Virginia University volleyball team celebrated its 2012 season on Wednesday night with end of the season banquet where multiple Mountaineers were honored.

Third-year coach Jill Kramer presented junior Liz Gulick and freshman Nikki Attea with the Academic Achievement Award, freshman Hannah Sackett with the Achievement, Effort, Attitude Award, freshman Anna Panagiotakopoulos with the Tough as Nails Award and freshman Brittany Sample with the Be a Mountaineer Award. MacKenzie Keenan was also honored with the Manager Award.

Nine of the 12 members on the roster were honored for being on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll for achieving a 3.0 GPA or better during the fall semester, while Gulick was also presented with her first team Academic All-Big 12 award.

WVU began spring conditioning and practice Thursday morning and will compete in its first spring tournament on March 23 at Duke.
