The 2012 Mountaineer women’s soccer team was honored during the first half of last night’s WVU men’s basketball game. This past fall, in its inaugural season in the Big 12 Conference, West Virginia won the regular-season championship with a 7-0-1 record. It marked only the sixth time a Big 12 team has won the regular-season title without a loss.

Seven student-athletes were named All-Big 12, including senior Bry McCarthy who was chosen Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. Coach Nikki Izzo-Brown was named the conference coach of the year for her efforts and the Mountaineers advanced to a 13th-consecutive NCAA tournament appearance.

Presenting the trophies were Big 12 Senior Associate Commissioner Dru Hancock and Big 12 Assistant Commissioner for Compliance Keri Boyce.
