MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team is ready to host its final home meet of the indoor season with the Gold-Blue Open on Friday, Feb. 15, in the WVU Shell Building.

Competition begins at 3:30 p.m., for the field events with the pole vault, while the 3,000-meter run is slated as the first event on the track.

This is the last meet for the team before it heads to its first-ever Big 12 Indoor Championships in Ames, Iowa on Feb. 22-23 at the Lied Recreational Center.

Last weekend at the SPIRE Indoor Track and Field Invitational, the Mountaineers posted 13 personal-best marks in the meet, while senior Heather Adams broke the school record in the weight throw for the second time this season with a mark of 18.18 meters. Adams now claims the top three spots in the top-5 for weight throw in WVU program history.

In her first time ever competing in the mile, freshman Kelly Williams also recorded a personal-best time by taking second in the mile with a time of 4:38.47. Williams’ time also ranks her third on the WVU top-5 in program history and is the second-best time in the Big 12 this season.

Live results from the events and a recap following the completion of the competition can be found at WVUsports.com.
