Three Ranked with Final Home Match on Tap

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – With its final home match of the season set for Saturday against Edinboro and a dual meet lined up on Sunday at Clarion, three West Virginia University wrestlers are ranked in multiple Division I wrestling polls.

Nathan Pennesi leads the way for the Mountaineers, as he is ranked No. 12 by Amateur Wrestling News, No. 14 by InterMat and No. 15 by WrestlingReport and Wrestling Insider Newsmagazine. Pennesi leads the team with 21 victories this season.

Shane Young (125) moved up one spot to No. 23 in WrestlingReport’s poll. Young recorded his tenth win of the season against Ohio.

Bubba Scheffel (174) is ranked No. 27 by WrestlingReport. Scheffel has eight wins this season.

Saturday’s match against Edinboro is set to begin at 7 p.m., at the WVU Coliseum and is designated “Senior Night”.
