MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Due to severe winter weather, league officials announced Thursday night that the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships will be pushed back to Feb. 23-24.
The meet, originally scheduled to begin today in the Lied Recreation Center on the Iowa State Campus, was rescheduled because of the delay of teams and meet officials in arriving to Ames.
Event schedules for each day will remain unchanged with Saturday beginning at 10 a.m., with the women’s pentathlon, while the prelims of the 60-meter hurdles will begin at 2 p.m., and the weight throw will be the first field event at 3 p.m. The meet will resume on Sunday at 11 a.m.
This is the first ever Big 12 Indoor Championships for WVU as the Mountaineers will face off against all Big 12 schools, including five ranked opponents - No. 5 Kansas, No. 12 Iowa State, No. 13 Texas and No. 25 Baylor.
Live results from the race can be found at deltatiming.com, while final results and a recap will be posted on WVUsports.com following the completion of competition each day.
