Men’s Soccer Releases Spring Slate

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University men's soccer coach Marlon LeBlanc has announced a six-game spring schedule, highlighted by a game against the Columbus Crew of Major League Soccer.

The spring season opens with a trip to take on the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL Professional Division on Friday, March 22 at 7 p.m. The match will be played at the Riverhounds new Highmark Stadium in the Station Square section of Pittsburgh.

WVU then returns back to Morgantown to host Navy on Saturday, April 6 at noon, followed by road games at Pitt on Saturday, April 13 at 6 p.m., and at St. Francis (Pa.) on Sunday, April 21 at 4 p.m.

The home portion of the schedule culminates with the annual alumni match on Friday, April 26 at 7 p.m.

The match at Columbus on Sunday, April 28 at 11 a.m., will be the third-consecutive season WVU has played an MLS team. Last year the Mountaineers took on Columbus, while battling New York Red Bull in 2011.

All home matches will be played at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium and admittance will be free.
