Three Ranked Heading To Big 12's

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – As they begin preparations for the Big 12 Duals and the Big 12 Championships, three West Virginia University wrestlers are ranked in multiple Division one wrestling polls.

Junior Nathan Pennesi (141) leads the way for the Mountaineers, as he is ranked No. 12 by Amateur Wrestling News, No. 14 by InterMat and No. 15 by Wrestling Insider Newsmagazine and WrestlingReport. Pennesi leads the team with 21 victories this season.

Senior Shane Young (125), who has tallied 12 victories this season, moved up one spot to No. 22 in WrestlingReport’s rankings.

Freshman Bubba Scheffel (174) continues to rank No. 27 in WrestlingReport’s poll. Scheffel has 10 victories this season.

The Big 12 Duals and the Big 12 Championships, which are to be held in Stillwater, Okla., are scheduled for March 8 and March 9, respectively.
