Williams Qualifies for NCAA Championships
The NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Track and Field Committee announced Monday night the top 16 individuals for each event along with the top 12 relay teams that qualified for the championships. The Chesterland, Ohio, native goes into the race ranked No. 12 with a personal-best time of 4:36.77 that she posted this past weekend at the Columbia Last Chance meet in New York, N.Y. Williams’ time shaved nearly two seconds off her former personal-best time and is ranked No. 3 in WVU program history in the mile. Williams will run in the semi-finals at 6:30 p.m., ET on Friday, with the top 12 moving onto the final on Saturday at 7 p.m., ET. ESPN3 will stream the meet live on March 8 from 6:30 p.m.-10:30 p.m., ET and March 9 from 7 p.m.-9:30 p.m., ET. A tape delay of the championship will air Sunday, March 17 from 7 p.m.-9 p.m., ET on ESPNU. |
