MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University fans are invited to attend a celebration for the national-champion rifle team on Monday, March 11, from 3:30 – 5 p.m., in the Jerry West Lounge at the WVU Coliseum.

The Mountaineers (11-1, 5-1) and seventh-year coach Jon Hammond will be available to greet fans and take pictures. Fans also will have the opportunity to take pictures with the team’s nation-best 15th NCAA Championships trophy.

WVU shot 4679 and claimed its first national title since 2009 on March 9, at French Field House, on the campus of Ohio State University, in Columbus, Ohio. The Mountaineers won air rifle with a 2363 score and finished third in smallbore with a 2316 mark.

Senior Petra Zublasing swept the individual titles, winning smallbore (688.3) Friday and air rifle (701.7) yesterday. She became the first NCAA shooter to win both disciplines since Alaska-Fairbanks’ Matthew Emmons did so in 2001.
