Be sure to check out a special edition of WVUsportsBuzz this Thursday evening on WVUsports.com as we recap West Virginia’s annual Pro Day taking place at the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility.
MSN’s Amanda Mazey and Jed Drenning will be on site for analysis, exclusive interviews and special commentary.
Representatives from all 32 NFL teams are expected to be in Morgantown to observe potential first-rounders Geno Smith and Tavon Austin, along with expected early-round pick Stedman Bailey and other current Mountaineer players and former players who will be working out for the pro scouts on Thursday.
The NFL Network will have a camera crew in Morgantown documenting their continuing behind-the-scenes coverage of Smith as he prepares for this year’s draft, along with draft expert Mike Mayock. ESPN pro football experts Ron Jaworski and Todd McShay are expected to be at Thursday’s workout as well.
Strength and conditioning coach Mike Joseph and Director of Football Operations Alex Hammond are coordinating Thursday’s event.
“We’ve had the NFL interest before, but we’ve never had this much media interested in our pro day with our two high-profile guys,” said Joseph. “We could potentially have two guys taken in the first round this year.”
Because of the limited space in the Caperton Indoor Practice Facility, the event is closed to the general public.
