Track Finishes Day Two at Wake Forest
Heather Adams grabbed her second top-5 finish of the meet by placing third in the discus with a mark of 43.00 meters. After sitting out indoor season, Katlyn Shelar made her debut in the pole vault by tying for second with a mark of 3.80 meters. Chené Townsend tied her personal best in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.13 and a 17th-place finish, while Ashanti Bess placed 39th in the event with a time of 25.96. In the 3,000-meter run, Sarah McCauley recorded a seventh-place finish with a time of 10:24.45, while Allison Pettit and Chelsea Jarvis came in 17th (10:41.75) and 19th (10:46.02) place, respectively. Shannen Daly was the first Mountaineer to finish in the 800-meter run with an 18th-place finish and a time of 2:20.34. Allison Tyree was the next WVU runner with a time of 2:21.04, while Arielle Gaither followed closely behind with a time of 2:21.87. WVU continues to stay on the road for its next meet by traveling to Wheeling, W.Va., for the Bill Van Horne Invitational on March 22-23.
