MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University track and field team will travel to California, Pa., for the California University of Pennsylvania Early Bird Meet on Saturday, March 23.
The field events start at 10 a.m. on Saturday with the hammer throw, while the 10,000-meter run will be the first running event on the track at 11 a.m.
Last weekend at the Wake Forest Open, WVU had five personal-best performances and four top-five finishes. Heather Adams
led the way with third- and fourth-place finishes in the discus and hammer throw, respectively. Adams recorded a personal-best hammer throw of 53.93 meters and sits at No. 2 on the WVU all-time list in program history. Sydney Cummings
was also successful by finishing in second in the high jump with a personal-best leap of 1.78 meters. Cummings is now tied for third in high jump in WVU program history. After sitting out the indoor season, Katlyn Shelar
made her debut in the pole vault by tying for second with a mark of 3.80 meters.
