MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Senior swimmers Rachael Burnett
and Mandie Nugent
completed their second day of competition at the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships at the IU Natatorium in Indianapolis, Ind.
Burnett competed in the 200 free, finishing 26th overall in the event with a time of 1:46.48. Nugent finished 28th overall in the 100 fly in a time 53.12.
“They both had lifetime best morning swims,” coach Vic Riggs says. “It was a good confidence building day for them with their best events tomorrow.”
Both swimmers will be in action tomorrow, Burnett will compete in the 1650 free, which she is seeded 12th, and Nugent will be competing in the 200 fly, where she is seeded 13th. Both Burnett and Nugent won these events at the Big 12 Championships in their last meet.
