MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University junior Stormy Nesbit
placed seventh in the triple jump with a mark of 12.11 meters Friday afternoon on the first day of competition at the Tiger Track Classic in Auburn, Ala.
This was the first competition for the school-record holder in the event for the outdoor season. The Rossville, Minn., native will also compete in long jump tomorrow at noon, ET.
Chene Townsend will be the only Mountaineer competing on the Hutsell-Rosen Track tomorrow in the 100-meter hurdles at 12:50 p.m., ET, while Sydney Cummings
and Hannah Stone
are set for high jump at 3:30 p.m., ET.
The rest of the team will face competition at the Ohio Team Challenge in Athens, Ohio on Saturday. Javelin and long jump are the first field events at Ohio on Saturday at noon, with the 5,000-meter run being the first event on the track at 2 p.m.
