MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia women’s soccer team resumes spring play with three matches this weekend. WVU travels to Pitt on Saturday, April 13, to face the Panthers, along with Ohio State, before playing host to St. Francis (Pa.) on April 14.

The Mountaineers will square off against Pitt and Ohio State at Ambrose Urbanic Field in Pittsburgh. West Virginia will play 45-minute matches against each team, starting at 11 a.m.

West Virginia returns home on Sunday to face St. Francis at 1:30 p.m. at Dick Dlesk Soccer Stadium.

“We are looking to improve off of last weekend’s performance, and are constantly working on concepts collectively and individually,” says coach Nikki Izzo-Brown. “Playing all three of these teams this weekend give us a great opportunity to improve.”

West Virginia is coming off a 3-0 shutout at home against Duquesne on April 7. Junior Frances Silva netted two goals and freshman Carly Black added a header to complete the scoring. Goalkeepers Sara Keane and Katie Osterman each worked a scoreless half in net for the Mountaineers.
