MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Two personal-best times led the West Virginia University track and field team at the Penn Relays Thursday night.
School-record holder Jordan Hamric
had the top time of the night for the Mountaineers in the 3,000-meter steeplechase by finishing third in the championship heat with a time of 10:21.79. Aubrey Moskal
also competed in the championship heat and came in fifth with a personal-best time of 10:30.11. Moskal’s time moves her up to No. 4 on WVU’s all-time list in program history.
In the college heat of the steeplechase, Sarah Martinelli
was the top finisher for WVU with a personal-best time of 10:34. With that time, Martinelli enters into the top-5 in program history in the steeplechase at No. 5. Sarah McCauley
also competed in the college heat and finished with a time of 10:56.
This concludes competition at the Penn Relays for the Mountaineers. The WVU throwers will be in action starting tomorrow at the Ashland Alumni Open in Ashland, Ohio.
