MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore left-handed pitcher Harrison Musgrave earned Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors for his complete game shutout victory over Kansas last Friday evening in Beckley.

Musgrave led the Mountaineers to a 1-0 win in game one against Kansas with a complete game shutout, allowing just four hits (3 infield hits) in 9.0 innings. Musgrave struck out five, walking just one, in the 111 pitch effort. Musgrave retired the Jayhawks in order in the first, second, fourth, fifth, sixth and ninth innings.

It was the second-consecutive complete game shutout that Musgrave has had after beating Texas, 1-0, on April 19. Musgrave now has a scoreless innings streak of 25.0 in which he has allowed 13 hits and has struck out 16, walking five.

For the season, Musgrave is 7-1 with a 2.36 ERA in 11 starts. Currently he is riding a six-game winning streak and has yet to lose in Big 12 play, posting a 4-0 record. In conference play, he has a 0.97 ERA, striking out 36 in 37.0 innings and has allowed just four earned runs.

Musgrave becomes the 13th pitcher in Big 12 history to collect three or more of the weekly honors in one season. The last league hurlers to win three Pitcher of the Week honors were Taylor Jungmann (Texas) and Ross Stripling (Texas A&M) in 2011.
