MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University senior Petra Zublasing finished seventh in the women’s 50m 3 positions final, today, at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) Fort Benning World Cup, in Fort Benning, Ga.

The Appianio, Italy, native was the fifth shooter to qualify for the final after scoring 584 (194 kneeling, 199 prone, 191 standing) in this morning’s qualification. She tallied 398.7 in the final.

Serbia’s Andrea Arsovic shot 454.2 in the final and finished first overall. Liuxi Wu of China finished second with a 452.9 score, and Germany’s Amelie Kleinmanns placed third with a 443.1 mark.

Today’s final qualification was the second in three days for Zublasing, as she finished third in the women’s 10m air rifle on May 8. A five-time National Rifle Association (NRA) First Team All-American, she finished first in both disciplines at the 2013 NCAA Championships on March 8-9 and led the Mountaineers to their nation-best 15th national title.

Zublasing, a civil engineering major, is set to graduate from WVU next weekend.
