MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Sophomore left-handed pitcher Harrison Musgrave earned Big 12 Pitcher of the Week honors for his complete game shutout victory over TCU last Saturday afternoon in Charleston.

Musgrave joins Ryan Rupe (Texas A&M, 1998) as the only pitcher to garner four Pitcher of the Week awards in a single season. Only nine players all-time have earned the award four or more times in their career.

Musgrave led the Mountaineers to a 2-0 win in game one against TCU with a complete game shutout, allowing just three hits in 9.0 innings. Musgrave struck out a career-high 14, walking just one, in the 143 pitch effort (104 strikes). His 14 strikeouts were a single-season high in the Big 12 this season. Musgrave retired the Horned Frogs in order in the first, second, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh innings, including a streak of 15 consecutive batters from the third to the eighth innings.

For the season, Musgrave is 8-1 with a 2.14 ERA in 13 starts with three complete games, three shutouts and 76 strikeouts. He is currently riding a seven-game winning streak and has yet to lose in Big 12 play, posting a 5-0 record. In conference play, he has a 1.02 ERA, striking out 61 in 53.0 innings and has allowed just six earned runs. In the conference only rankings, he is first in wins (5), opponent batting average (.145), shutouts (3) and complete games (3), while ranking second in ERA (1.02), innings pitched (53.0) and strikeouts (61).
