MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – West Virginia University senior runner Sarah-Anne Brault
has been named to the 2013 Capital One Academic All-District 2 Women’s Track and Cross Country Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on Thursday.
Brault advances to the Capital One Academic All-America Team ballots, where first-, second- and third-team Academic All-America selections will be named in the coming weeks.
This is the second time in her career that Brault has been named to the All-District 2 team. Brault garnered the same award in 2011 and went on to be named to the 2011 Capital One Academic All-America Second Team.
The Winnipeg, Manitoba, native is a four-time letterwinner in cross country and track and field and also qualified for the NCAA cross country championship all four years. She is a three-time All-Mid Atlantic Region honoree in cross country and was named all-conference the past two seasons. Brault placed 10th in the 10,000-meter run at the 2011 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, earned All-America honors and was first alternate in the triathlon for Canada at the 2012 London Summer Olympic Games.
Brault graduated with a 3.93 GPA and received a degree in economics in 2012 and finance in 2013. Brault recently finished her career as a Mountaineer with a 28th-place finish in the 10,000-meter run at the 2013 NCAA East Preliminary.
