Athletics Summer Camp Update

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – This weekend marks the start of 12 weeks of West Virginia athletics summer camps, clinics and sessions.

All camps and clinics are open to any and all entrants. Those interested in signing up should click HERE for more information and registration.

The Mountaineer baseball team is hosting eight camps, starting with the Prospect Camp, created specifically for high school players, on June 12. There are two Youth Camps set up, with the first session from June 17-21 and the second from July 1-3, designed for players ages 5-12. Infield/Hitting and Pitcher/Catcher Camps are held June 22-23 for players ages 6-18. A special two-day camp designed to help build the bond between father and son through the game of baseball is the Father/Son Camp scheduled for June 29-30. Become a Mountaineer Camp provides players the opportunity to experience the true WVU player experience on Aug. 5-8. WVU baseball will hold one final prospect camp Aug. 10-11.

The WVU football program offers seven different sessions this summer, including four day camps on June 8, 9, 16 and July 27 and Mountaineer Kicking Camp on June 9. Registration for one-day camps will begin at 10 a.m., inside the Indoor Practice Facility with walk up campers accepted. Team Camp is held from June 12-14 and registration includes enrollment in the 7-on-7 Pass Tournament, which will take place on June 14-15.

Men’s basketball tips off its camp experience this weekend with the June 7-9 Fantasy Camp for those 21 and older. The Team Camp will be held June 14-16 for all high school boys basketball teams, Individual Camp is June 23-26 for boys ages 8-18 and Day Camp is Aug. 5-8 for boys ages 7-14.

Five different camps are scheduled by the men’s soccer program, beginning with the Youth Academy Session I held June 10-13, and Session II held Aug. 5-8. High School/Team Academy is for a minimum of 12 players per team and set for June 21-23. The Collegiate Prep Academy is scheduled for July 17-20 and is limited to 128 participants. The One Day Collegiate Showcase is limited to 60 participants and will be held on Sept. 1.

The WVU volleyball team will host nine camps and clinics, including two Servers Clinics on July 8 and 17, two Hitting Clinics on July 10 and 15 and a Setting Clinic on July 11. All clinics are for girls and boys of all ages and abilities. Volleyball’s Elite Camp is for advanced players who have a goal to play in college and is held July 12-14. There will be a Passing & Digging Clinic on July 18 and an All Skills Camp on July 26-28 for boys and girls of all ages and abilities. Team Camp is set for July 29-31.

The women’s basketball team has three camps scheduled, starting with a Day Camp held June 17-19 for girls, grades kindergarten through fifth grade, and boys, ages 5-6. The Team Summer Shootout is open to all middle school, high school and AAU/club teams on June 21-23 with a guarantee of six to seven games. Individual Camp is for girls, grades 6-12, on June 27-30.

The women’s soccer team will host three camps. Day Camp, which is for beginning players, is set for June 10-14, Residential Camp/Team Camp is July 20-23 and Summer Elite Camp, designed for those who would like to pursuit a soccer career after high school, is July 27-28.

The WVU track and cross country teams will host a Cross Country/Track & Field Camp on June 29-July 3 for anyone from middle school to high school. The Pole Vault Camp is from July 21-26 and open to boy and girl applicants.

The Mountaineer wrestling program will host a Team and Individual Camp from June 16-20 and June 23-27. The camps are open to any and all entrants interested in learning moves and strategies from every position.

The WVU gymnastics Overnight and Day Camps held July 21-25 are currently sold out.
