Baseball Summer League Update #5

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Throughout the summer WVUsports.com will provide weekly updates of how current team members are doing in their respective summer leagues.

This edition features updates through games on Sunday, July 14.

Michael Bennett, Alaska Goldpanners, Alaska Baseball League
Stats for Bennett are unavailable.

Bobby Boyd, Bourne Braves, Cape Cod Baseball League
Last week: Boyd played in three games last week, batting .231 (3-for-13) with one multi-hit game.

Season: Boyd is batting .271 with 12 runs, one triple, three RBIs and two stolen bases in 21 games.

Michael Constantini, Quakertown Blazers, Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: Constantini was named an ACBL All-Star and will represent the West team on July 22. He played in five games last week, registering a hit in four of the five and finishing with a .353 (6-for-17) average with two runs, two doubles and three RBIs.

Season: Constantini is batting .230 with 15 runs, five doubles, one triple, 10 RBIs and 12 stolen bases in 23 games.

Brock Dykxhoorn, Mankato MoonDogs, Northwoods League
Last week: Dykxhoorn picked up his second win of the season last week, striking out two in 7.0 innings. He allowed five runs on eight hits with three walks.

Season: Dykxhoorn has a 2-3 record in six starts with a 4.00 ERA. He has struck out 27 in 36.0 innings

Billy Fleming, Philly Bandits
Fleming is playing for the Bandits, but stats are unavailable.

Justin Fox, Leesburg Lightning, Florida Collegiate Summer League
Last week: Fox played in three games last week, including the Florida League’s All-Star game. He finished the week 0-for-9 with one run.

Season: Fox is batting .234 with 10 runs, six doubles, one triple, one homer, and 12 RBIs in 24 games.

Ray Guerrini, Rockbridge Rapids, Valley Baseball League
Last week: Guerrini played in five games, batting 3-for-14 (.214) with one run and two RBIs.

Season: Guerrini is batting .177 with eight runs, two doubles, one homer, six RBIs and five stolen bases in 24 games. He also has made three appearances on the mound with a 3.37 ERA, allowing four hits and walking four.

Ryan McBroom, Laconia Muskrats, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: McBroom continued his hot hitting, batting 12-for-25 (.480) in seven games with four runs, two doubles, one homer and five RBIs. He has had at least one hit in each of the last seven games.

Season: McBroom is batting .406 with nine runs, four doubles, two homers, 10 RBIs and one stolen base in 17 games.

John Means, Falmouth Commodores, Cape Cod Baseball League
Last week: Means earned his second win of the season, striking out three in 6.0 innings against Bourne. Means allowed two runs on five hits.

Season: Means has a 2-1 record in three starts with a 2.29 ERA. He has struck out 14 in 15.2 innings pitched.

Taylor Munden, McKinney Marshals, Texas Collegiate League
Last week: Munden played in three games last week, batting 1-for-12 (.083) with one double and one RBI.

Season: Munden is batting .184 with seven runs, five doubles, two homers, six RBIs and five stolen bases in 22 games. Munden has pitched 3.2 innings on the mound in three appearances, allowing four hits with four strikeouts and two walks.

Max Nogay, New Bedford Bay Sox, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: Nogay played in five games last week, batting 4-for-14 (.286) with four runs, one double and three RBIs.

Season: Nogay is batting .254 with eight runs, five doubles and three RBIs in 19 games.

Cameron O’Brien, Falmouth Commodores, Cape Cod Baseball League
Last week: O’Brien went 0-for-4 in one game last week.

Season: O’Brien is batting .200 with three runs, one triple and one RBI in 10 games.

Jacob Rice, Anchorage Glacier Pilots, Alaska Baseball League
Last week: Rice played in five games last week, finishing 3-for-16 (.188) with one run and one RBI.

Season: Rice is batting .207 with nine runs, one double, one homer and six RBIs in 25 games.

Billy Sager, West Virginia Power, West Virginia Legion
Season: Sager is batting .340 with four doubles, three triples and one homer.

Cody Semler, McKinney Marshals, Texas Collegiate League
Last week: Semler went 1-for-6 (.167) in two games last week with one walk and one stolen base.

Season: Semler is batting .231 with four runs, one homer, five RBIs and three stolen bases in 11 games.

Alex Stephens, DeLand Suns, Florida Collegiate Summer League
Last week: Stephens played in five games last week, including the Florida League’s All-Star game. He finished the week 4-for-17 (.235) with two runs, including a 1-for-3 performance in the all-star game.

Season: Stephens is batting .287 with nine runs, four doubles, 11 RBIs and two stolen bases in 25 games.

Michael Teagle, Clippers, Karl Young College Baseball League
Season: Teagle is 3-0 in four starts with a 3.40 ERA in 16 innings pitched.

Ryan Tezak, Laconia Muskrats, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: Tezak pitched in two games last week, picking up two saves, allowing just one hit in 2.0 innings. He struck out three and did not allow a walk.

Season: Tezak has a 2-0 record with three saves in eight appearances with a 2.89 ERA. He has struck out 12 in 9.1 innings pitched.

Shaun Wood, Vienna River Dogs, Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: Wood batted 2-for-16 (.125) in five games last week with one RBI.

Season: Wood is batting .250 with six runs, three doubles, one triple, two homers, 10 RBIs and two stolen bases.
