Baseball Summer League Update #6
MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – Throughout the summer WVUsports.com will provide weekly updates of how current team members are doing in their respective summer leagues.
This edition features updates through games on Sunday, July 21.
Michael Bennett, Alaska Goldpanners, Alaska Baseball League
Last week: Bennett pitched his first game of the summer, allowing one run on three hits in 3.0 innings pitched. He also struck out two.
Season: Same as above.
Bobby Boyd, Bourne Braves, Cape Cod Baseball League
Last week: Boyd played in six games last week, batting .400 (8-for-20) and has four-straight two hit games. He also had seven runs, one double, one RBI, one walk and one stolen base.
Season: Boyd is batting .300 with 19 runs, one double, one triple, four RBIs and three stolen bases in 27 games.
Michael Constantini, Quakertown Blazers, Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: Constantini played in six games last week, registering a hit in each game and finishing the week 7-for-20 (.350). He added two runs and four RBIs.
Season: Constantini is batting .255 with 17 runs, five doubles, one triple, 14 RBIs and 15 stolen bases in 29 games.
Brock Dykxhoorn, Mankato MoonDogs, Northwoods League
Last week: Dykxhoorn made two appearances last week. He allowed a combined nine runs and 11 hits in 7.2 innings with three strikeouts and five walks.
Season: Dykxhoorn has a 2-3 record in eight starts with a 4.74 ERA. He has struck out 30 in 43.2 innings
Billy Fleming, Philly Bandits
Fleming is playing for the Bandits, but stats are unavailable.
Justin Fox, Leesburg Lightning, Florida Collegiate Summer League
Last week: Fox went 4-for-22 (.182) last week in six games with a pair of two-hit games. He added two runs, one double and two RBIs.
Season: Fox is batting .222 with 12 runs, seven doubles, one triple, one homer, and 14 RBIs in 30 games.
Ray Guerrini, Rockbridge Rapids, Valley Baseball League
Last week: Guerrini played in five games, batting 5-for-15 (.333) with five runs and two doubles. He also pitched in one game, allowing no runs on three hits in 4.0 innings with five strikeouts.
Season: Guerrini is batting .208 with 13 runs, four doubles, one homer, six RBIs and five stolen bases in 29 games. He also has made four appearances on the mound with a 1.35 ERA, allowing seven hits with five strikeouts.
Ryan McBroom, Laconia Muskrats, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: McBroom went 3-for-21 (.143) last week in seven games with five runs, one double, one homer and six RBIs. He also participated in the NECBL All-Star Game and Home Run Derby. He went 0-for-2 in the all-star game.
Season: McBroom is batting .341 with 14 runs, five doubles, three homers, 16 RBIs and one stolen base in 24 games.
John Means, Falmouth Commodores, Cape Cod Baseball League
Last week: Means took a no-decision, allowing one run, zero earned, on four hits with three strikeouts in 6.0 innings.
Season: Means has a 2-2 record in five starts with a 2.36 ERA. He has struck out 23 in 26.2 innings pitched.
Taylor Munden, McKinney Marshals, Texas Collegiate League
Last week: Munden played in five games last week, batting 5-for-19 (.263) with four runs, one double, two homers and three RBIs.
Season: Munden is batting .198 with 11 runs, six doubles, four homers, nine RBIs and six stolen bases in 27 games. Munden has pitched 3.2 innings on the mound in three appearances, allowing four hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
Max Nogay, New Bedford Bay Sox, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: Nogay caught fire last week, batting 8-for-22 (.364) and currently has a four-game hitting streak. He also added three runs, three doubles, one homer and seven RBIs.
Season: Nogay is batting .284 with 11 runs, seven doubles, one homer and 10 RBIs in 25 games.
Cameron O’Brien, Falmouth Commodores, Cape Cod Baseball League
Last week: O’Brien went 2-for-8 (.250) in two games last week with one homer and two RBIs.
Season: O’Brien is batting .211 with four runs, one triple, one homer and three RBIs in 12 games.
Jacob Rice, Anchorage Glacier Pilots, Alaska Baseball League
Last week: Rice went 0-for-3 last week with one walk in three games.
Season: Rice is batting .200 with nine runs, one double, one homer and six RBIs in 28 games.
Billy Sager, West Virginia Power, West Virginia Legion
Season: Sager is batting .340 with four doubles, three triples and one homer.
Cody Semler, McKinney Marshals, Texas Collegiate League
Last week: Semler went 3-for-11 (.273) in three games last week and has a three-game hitting streak. He added one run, two doubles, one RBI and a walk.
Season: Semler is batting .240 with five runs, two doubles, one homer, six RBIs and three stolen bases in 14 games.
Alex Stephens, DeLand Suns, Florida Collegiate Summer League
Last week: Stephens played in five games last week, finishing 7-for-18 (.389) with a pair of three-hit games. He added two runs and one walk.
Season: Stephens is batting .304 with 11 runs, four doubles, 11 RBIs and two stolen bases in 30 games.
Michael Teagle, Clippers, Karl Young College Baseball League
Last Week: Teagle picked up his fourth win of the season, allowing one run in four innings.
Season: Teagle is 4-0 in five starts with a 2.70 ERA in 20 innings pitched.
Ryan Tezak, Laconia Muskrats, New England Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: Tezak pitched in three games last week, picking up one save. He allowed two runs, both unearned, on three hits in 2.0 innings, striking out two.
Season: Tezak has a 2-0 record with four saves in 11 appearances with a 2.38 ERA. He has struck out 14 in 11.1 innings pitched.
Shaun Wood, Vienna River Dogs, Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League
Last week: Wood batted 1-for-10 (.100) in five games last week with one RBI.
Season: Wood is batting .230 with seven runs, three doubles, one triple, two homers, 11 RBIs and four stolen bases in 25 games.
